Continuing Education Hours (CE Hours)

Continuing Education hours are available for the following IECA professional development programs:

Live Webinars, except for business/marketing webinars (not on demand webinars)
Pre-conference workshops
IECA Fall and Spring Conferences
IECA Summer Training Institute

The number of CE hours to be earned as well as the process for securing your CE hours certificate will be explained at the time you register for any of the above programs. IECA does not charge any additional fees for awarding CE hours.

IECA has been ACEp Logo approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6632. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. IECA is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

How do I know if I need CE hours and if these qualify for my licensure?

You should contact your licensing body to verify if it would qualify. Most counselors, therapists, social workers, and psychologists will find NBCC approved CE hours are accepted.

How many CE hours do I earn for attending a webinar?
1 CE hour. Participants must attend the full hour online and complete a survey at the end of the webinar.

Are all webinars qualified for CE hours?
Only those that meet the NBCC standards

Do I need to be an IECA member to earn CE hours?
No, everyone who attends the webinar can earn CE hours.

Is there an additional fee to earn CE Hours?
No, IECA does not charge any additional fees for awarding CE hours.

Conferences
Where can I get information on earning CE hours at IECA’s conferences?
A form has been inserted into the conference guide. Additional forms are available at the Conference Registration desk and the Member Services table in Conference Central. Record all speaker, breakout, and educational sessions that you attend throughout the conference on this form. At the end of the conference, submit the completed form in the CE box at the Conference Registration desk. Keep the bottom copy for your files.

How do I know if I need CE hours and if these qualify for my licensure?
You should contact your licensing body to verify if NBCC approved CE hours earned at IECA conferences will qualify. Most counselors, therapists, social workers, and psychologists will find NBCC approved CE hours are accepted (National Board for Certified Counselors is the agency that authorizes IECA to grant CE hours). CEPs may use IECA CE hours toward recertification.

What if I forgot to complete and submit the form at the conference?
You have up to 30 days to complete and mail the CE hours form to:

Do all sessions count toward CE hours?
No, there are exceptions: (1) Some topics do not meet NBCC standards. The Conference Guide indicates which sessions qualify for CE credits. (2) The following sessions grant CE hours to Independent Educational Consultants only: School and College Fair, and the Therapeutic Information Swap.
